I guess you could say moving here isn't much different from back home. I grow up a city kid and went to a performing arts high school that had an open campus downtown. As for the living on my own part, my parents have been traveling most of life so I'm used to it and I've never had a curfew. I have always cooked for myself had a job and took care of myself. I think one of the reasons I picked Columbia is it does have some comfort of home, even with the lake being blocks away. As for this roommate situation that might drive me to my limits. I am a bit of a clean, organizing freak and got placed with people who are...well lets just say aren't into cleaning up to much. That will definitely take some time to get used to. I'm just now starting to realize the distance between my old home and my new home and the people I left back home. I turned out to be the only person of my friends and family who left the state to go to college. Which in a weird way is kind of comforting knowing that I could go home to my city and find all the people and things that are important to me. Hopefully come this spring I will be able to say the same thing in reverse, Chicago will be my other home in the city.
